June Mood

Oh June. The month of strawberries, roses, love, romance, the solstice and all that solar energy and creativity that goes with it. What an amazing abundant, delicious energy. I've been steeping in it, with the pinnacle being the Strawberry Moon Gathering we had on the 11th. I wanted to share some of the magic we created there. We made hammered flower cards which didn't turn out quite as beautiful as the Instagram version but was very therapeautic for the women and kids, pounding away at the flowers. We also did a flower mandala for the middle of the circle. I wanted to share two recipes below that I absolutely loved.

Strawberry Upside Down Cake from Purewow. This was perfection with fresh whipped cream. Everyone loved it, the kids too. Click to go to the recipe.

Strawberry Moon Tea Blend. We made this blend during the Strawberry Moon circle and did a little tea ceremony to go with it. I was thinking I forgot the lavender and while looking back at the recipe I realized it didn't actually call for lavender. I added some to my blend when I got home and it really enhanced the flavor so I highly recommend adding that as well. I have to say this is one of my favorite tea blends ever with a little honey and a dash of vanilla, it is so sweet and light and fruity. Mix equal parts of each herb and if you don't have dried vanilla bean just add vanilla extract to your brew.

  • Freeze dried strawberries for love, sweetness and heart healing energy.

  • Dried rose petals or rosehips for romance and self love.

  • Lemon balm for calm and clarity.

  • Chamomile for soothing emotions.

  • Lavender for peace and relaxation.

  • Cinnamon and vanilla for warmth and passion.

Curious to try this blend once I run out of my Osteodoron powder from Uriel. That has helped my tooth sensitivity so much, I am would like to see if this one could help with the visible reduction in skin elasticity I've noticed over the last couple years. $30, click to go to their site.

This poem from Meister Eckhert, a german mystic from the 1300s, really struck my heart. I recently read a section of his poems in the book Love Poems to God by Daniel Ladinsky, a favorite of mine from my grandmother's collection. Click to go to the post on IG and to read a few more of his poems.

This post from @healingthesource really made me even more aware of how much I reach for my phone without thinking. Maybe some day I'll do a post on my 3 years off social media back in 2016, and how much it made me realize the grip it has on all of us. I'm going to start implementing these consciously as much as I can. Click to go to the post.

If you need a new summer hat, I love this straw one from Zara and it's only $39.90. Click to go to their site.

This photo is my current mood for Cancer season, the outfit, the creek and nothing making me happier currently then fruit and flowers by the river. It doesn't get better. Click to go to Pinterest.

I've been wanting to buy these rattles since at least two of my kids were babies and just never did. These cotton rattles are perfect for summer, $24.99 on Amazon. Click to go there.

The Solstice altar. It was oddly so rainy this year and the day after! And cold too. But it made me appreciate the warmth of the sun so much more after that. I am appreciating and loving all the abundance and warmth around us, and every little summer moment. We went to the Midsummer Festival twice this weekend at The Nordic House and it really got me in the summer spirit!

I made the perfect June coffee drink on the solstice even though it was really warm drink weather. But I loved this simple Rose Cacao Iced Latte from Nyssa's Kitchen despite the rain. Click to go to the pin.

Please join us at next month's Buck Moon Gathering. We will make a flower garland, mix up some sidewalk chalk paint for the kids, and do a nature altar ritual during the circle. This will also be linked in the homeschool calendar. RSVP for the park location in West Linn, it may change if it's hot to one with a splash pad.

Grateful for another beautiful, magical, abundant month and excited for the next one in this glorious summer season we find ourselves in.
